Ambassador Dr. Snezana Jankovic held a video conference with Mr. Oliver Schenk, Minister of Federal Affairs and Head of the State Office of Saxony.

The talks focused on further improvement of bilateral cooperation between Serbia and Saxony. Ambassador Janković especially pointed out the potentials of economic cooperation, taking into account that 400 German companies are already present in Serbia and that they employ 75 thousand workers. She emphasized that Serbia, as well as Saxony, pays special attention to the cluster of information technologies and microelectronics, and stated that Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic signed an agreement with the World Economic Forum on the establishment of the Center for the Fourth Industrial Revolution in Geneva. Minister Schenk agreed that there is great potential in this area and suggested establishing closer cooperation between chambers of commerce and relevant scientific research institutions in Serbia and Saxony.

As further areas of potential cooperation, the fight against climate change, energy transition and innovations were identified.The conversation also focused on cultural cooperation.
