Serbian Ambassador to Germany Dr. Snežana Janković had a video conference with Dr. Thomas Steffen, State Secretary at the German Ministry of Health, during which opinions were exchanged on the current epidemiological situation, as well as on cooperation between the Serbian and German Ministries of Health.

Ambassador Janković informed her interlocutor about the efforts of the Government of Serbia to successfully counteract the coronavirus pandemic, construction of completely new hospitals specialized in COVID patients, prompt procurement of various types of vaccines, as well as a persistent campaign to motivate citizens for vaccination. She expressed the interest of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Serbia to continue excellent contacts and cooperation with the German Ministry of Health in overcoming the pandemic, but also in exchange of experiences related to the treatment of rare diseases, health policies and strategies, and further improvement of cooperation of the most prestigious health institutions.

State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Health Dr. Thomas Steffen presented data on the epidemiological situation in Germany, pointing out that the most important element in overcoming the pandemic is international cooperation and coordination. He conveyed the interest of the German Ministry of Health in intensifying contacts and cooperation with the Ministry of Health of Serbia, as well as in the coordination between the Institutes for public health of both countries.
