On March 18, H.E. Dr. Snezana Jankovic, Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to the Federal Republic of Germany, had a meeting with Dr. Nils Schmid, the spokesperson for foreign policy of the parliamentary group of the Social Democratic Party in the German Bundestag.

Topics of discussion included European integration of Serbia and the Western Balkans, regional relations and cooperation, as well as bilateral relations between Serbia and Germany, with a focus on economic cooperation.

Dr. Schmid expressed his support for the process of accession of the Western Balkans to the European Union and emphasized geopolitical reasons that require this process to be intensified. He stressed the interest in improving parliamentary cooperation, as well as other areas of our bilateral relations.

Ambassador Janković informed her interlocutor about the reform process in Serbia, emphasizing that joining the European Union is the most important foreign policy goal of our country. She also informed Dr. Schmid about the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, as well as about the "Open Balkans" initiative, which aims to improve regional cooperation and connect the region to a prosperous and attractive market by introducing the freedoms of the European Union.
