H.E. Dr. Snežana Janković, Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to the Federal Republic of Germany, opened on March 28, 2022 the series of virtual workshops for Serbian entrepreneurs entitled "Knowledge Transfer - Entrepreneurial Diaspora as a generator of cross-border economic cooperation with Germany".  Workshops are planned for small and medium enterprises that intend to engage in the German market. In the next three days business leaders from Čačak, Kraljevo and Kruševac will participate in the workshops. The project is being implemented through the initiative of the Central Council of Serbs in Germany with the financial support of German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) and German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).  

In her introductory speech, Ambassador Janković emphasized that economic cooperation occupies a particularly important place in the very good overall bilateral relations between Serbia and Germany. Over 500 companies with German capital operate in Serbia and employ about 73,000 people. The Embassy is witnessing the emergence of new companies interested in investing in Serbia or establishing some kind of business cooperation with our country, and it is to be expected that our economic relations with Germany will continue to rise. It is certainly a very favorable environment for business connections and expanding our presence on the German market.

Ambassador Janković pointed out that transfer of knowledge and experience of our business people from Germany, as a traditionally entrepreneurial economy, is very important, not only for strengthening entrepreneurship, but also for establishment of a dual education system in Serbia.  

She emphasized that the possibilities of our business diaspora are great in the international context as well, and networking of Serbian business associations and business people in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, USA, Canada and other countries where our diaspora is numerous, would help and bring remarkable results in the presence of our small and medium enterprises and the placement of their products on foreign markets.
