On April 20, Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia in Germany Dr. Snežana Janković had a meeting with Mr. Andreas Michaelis, State Secretary at the German Federal Foreign Office. The meeting was an opportunity to exchange the views on the most important issues of bilateral relations between Serbia and Germany, but also on current international topics.

First of all, the importance of further progress of Serbia in the process of European integration was emphasized. In this regard, Ambassador Janković expressed her gratitude for the continued German support to Serbia on that path. Topics about regional cooperation, as well as the overall situation in the Western Balkans was discussed.

Both sides stressed the significance of further continuation of successful economic cooperation, bearing in mind that Germany is one of the largest investors in Serbia, whose companies employ over 73,000.

State Secretary Michaelis also pointed out the potentials of cultural cooperation, especially emphasizing the importance of the fact that Novi Sad holds the title of European Capital of Culture for this year.
