On June 25, 2022, priests of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Berlin held a Vidovdan memorial service at the cemetery on the site of the former camp for prisoners of war from the Second World War, Stalag III A, in the city of Lukenwalde. The commemoration was attended by representatives of the city of Lukenwalde, as well as about 30 members of the Serbian Orthodox Church.
On behalf of the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Berlin, First Counsellor Ivo Vojvodić and Defense attaché Nenad Milojević attended the commemoration. They paid tribute to the victims and laid a wreath on the joint monument erected to all victims of the camp during the war, among which are the remains of 60 of our compatriots, members of the Yugoslav Army.

Mr. Ivo Vojvodić expressed his gratitude to the hosts for taking care of the cemetery and the memorial, pointed out that even today, after several decades, the memory of our innocent compatriots who died in a cruel war is preserved with deep reverence. However, it is not only fostering a culture of remembering the victims what is important, but also a warning about what kind of suffering war brings, said Vojvodić.
